Appointment Of Ex-AA Boss Tim Parker To Run Transport For London Is A Scary Moment For Commuters Says GMBPaul Kenny, GMB General Secretary commenting on the appointment of Tim Parker the former AA boss to run London Transport. 22 May 2008
Paul Kenny, GMB General Secretary commenting on the appointment of Tim Parker the former AA boss to run London Transport said, "This is a scary moment for London’s commuters. Tim Parker is one of the multi- millionaire elite private equity buccaneers who asset stripped the AA by cutting jobs and cutting services and raising prices to customers. At AA he targeted and sacked by bullying out of the door the sick and disabled staff. He took £30 million out of AA when he left it last year, having saddled AA/SAGA with £4.8 billions of debt. The good work of the last number of years is under threat." Ends Contact: GMB Press Office: Steve Pryle on 07921 289880 or Rose Conroy on 07974 258123. |
Inside CampaignsGMB Christmas Appeal Update and AuthenticationThanks to all of you who have already sent cheques to help SITRAP trade union activist, Allan Hernandez Venegas and his family, in response to our GMB Christmas Appeal. Unfortunately, owing to the preponderance of scam e-mails soliciting money, and gremlins in the system that prevented us from including photographs, many of you were not convinced that the appeal was genuine. |
