GMB Labour Candidates Programme

GMB want to help our members get involved in politics at all levels. Standing for your local council in devolved elections, for Westminster or European Parliaments are good ways of making sure that the views of ordinary working people are heard in the corridors of power.

The National Political Team are here to help you through the process of standing in elections. As a starting point, you can download brief job descriptions of what is involved in being a Member of Parliament or Local Councillor. (see additional resources at the bottom of the page)

If you think you have what it takes to be an elected representative, get in touch by filling in this initial candidate background form and sending to Cath Speight, National Political Officer
