GMB, the union for Remploy workers, responded
to the Ministerial statement in the House of Commons on Wednesday
7th March 2012 which announced the government’s
decision to close 36 of the 54 remaining Remploy factories with the
compulsory redundancy of 1,752 Remploy workers of which 1,518 are
disabled. The statement envisages the complete closure of all 54
factories by the end of 2013.
