GMB Back Calls For Emergency Debate In Scottish Parliament To Raise Health And Safety Standards In Offshore Industry

All Super Puma helicopter flights to UK installations must to remain grounded while a full investigation is undertaken and conclusions drawn says GMB

GMB, the union for workers in the offshore sector backed calls for an emergency debate in the Scottish Parliament over safety standards in the offshore sector.

David Hulse, GMB National officer for workers in offshore oil sector, said “GMB support the call for the Scottish Parliament to hold an emergency debate on health and safety standards in the offshore industry.

The offshore employers have a duty of care to workers in the industry. Health and safety standards have failed miserably. The level of confidence the workforce has in the current standards is at an all time low.

All Super Puma helicopter flights to UK installations must to remain grounded while a full investigation is undertaken and conclusions drawn.”
