BRIAR CHEMICALS LIMITED
SWEET BRIAR ROAD
Industrial action short of a strike is on-going.
GMB members working in all parts of the plant are seeking modest percentage pay rise and have already rejected earlier offers. They voted to reject the final offer of an unconsolidated one-off payment and a one-off bonus payment without strings and the company dropped it demand for a new "Agreement of Intent" and a new Substantive Agreement by April 2014.
Ivan Mercer, GMB Organiser said, “GMB will issue the formal Notification of Strike Action as soon as possible to the company.
The pay offer of a one off payment simply was not enough to satisfy the members who have been very patience waiting for a decent percentage wage rise that has not been forth coming. Their patience is at an end.”
