THE INSTITUTE OF
DIRECTORS ARE"EXTREMIST
FUNDAMENTALISTS" ON SOCIAL
ANDECONOMIC ISSUES SO THE GOVERNMENT
SHOULD FILE THEIR IDEAS IN THE
WASTE BIN
IOD ideas for growth are a
load of rubbish says GMB
GMB commented on proposals on growth
published by the Institute of Directors ( IOD).
Paul Kenny GMB General Secretary said
"The Institute of Directors are rightly seen as "extremist
fundamentalists" when it comes to social and economic issues. The
government should take little time in filing these ideas in the
waste bin. What a load of rubbish"
Brian Strutton GMB National Secretary
for Public Services added "The IOD claim to want to make it
easier for firms to employ people but actually put forward a series
of proposals just to make it easier to sack them – if anything this
would increase unemployment.
IOD say they want to reform
public services but in fact they ask for the NHS and state
education to be scrapped and replaced by the private sector –
replacing public service with the profit motive.
IOD say they want to end
national collective pay bargaining in health and education –
ignoring the fact that statutory independent review bodies set pay
in these sectors not collective bargaining.
The IoD's real agenda in this
so-called plan is to ask for tax breaks and other financial perks
which they want be funded by even more public sector
cutbacks.
These plans are a mixture of
extreme political dogma and pure greed which will add to the dole
queues and swell the wallets of the bosses. "
