GMB WIGAN BRANCH STAGES DEMONSTRATION AT LIVERPOOL LAW COURTS ON MONDAY 28TH FEBRUARY 2011AT 11AM IN PROTEST AT UNLAWFUL REPOSSESSION OF GMB MEMBERS PROPERTY

The legal system in Britainhas offered no protection to a hard working GMB member who has been the victim of a miscarriage of justice, a victim of unprofessional conduct by legal and financial professionals and institutions, who have so far succeeded in covering up their misdeeds

GMB Wigan Branch is taking an active part in the campaign for justice for GMB member Anne Dickson whose home was unlawfully repossessed in 1998 after a long series of miscarriages of justice. All attempts since then to get this miscarriage overturned have run into a brick wall. The Branch has now decided that a media campaign to bring the protractors of the miscarriages of justice and to secure compensation for Anne Dickson.

The demonstration will take place at:

11 a.m. on

Monday 28th february 2011

outside the

Queen elizabethii law courts

Derby square

Liverpool

L2 1xa

The slogans on the placards will be “Unlawful repossession – join our campaign for justice”.

John McEvoy, GMB Branch President of the GMB Wigan Branch said, “The GMB WiganBranch has decided to stage this demonstration outside the Queen Elisabeth law courts in Liverpoolto protest against the unlawful repossession of the house of GMB member Anne Dickson.

The Branch has decided to stage this demonstration to protest that the legal system in Britain has offered no protection to a hard working GMB member who has been the victim of a miscarriage of justice, a victim of unprofessional conduct by legal and financial professionals and institutions, who have so far succeeded in covering up their misdeeds.

The GMB Branch is demanding a full public enquiry into how this can happen. We are also demanding that Santanderthe current owners of Bradfordand BingleyBuildingSociety enter into discussion with Anne Dickson to compensate her for her financial loss and the damage that she has suffered.

The fact that a trade union Branch in the North of England is prepared to resort to demonstrations on the streets of Liverpool shows the strength of feeling about this case and the raw demands for justice that will not be silenced.”
