GMB Pay and Conditions Service

All GMB members have FREE access to the GMB Pay and Conditions service - an invaluable source of bargaining information provided for us by LRD.

The service is for GMB members only and you need a password to access it (see below).  If you are not a member of the GMB click here to find out how to join

How can it help me?

If you are involved in pay negotiations at any level, the GMB Pay and Conditions service is there for you. It holds details of over 2,400 union negotiated agreements with large and small employers in both the public and the private sectors.

The database which has been provided for us by LRD gives information on pay settlements and pay rates which can be downloaded to Excel for ease of use.  It also holds information about working hours, holidays and special leave, overtime rates, shift pay, regional allowances, maternity, paternity, other family friendly policies (flexible working, career breaks), union facilities and other subjects that may be covered by union negotiations.

You can use it, for example, to compare pay increases and pay rates in your own industry/region, or you can spread the net wider, perhaps to check on new developments like parental leave.

Three simple steps

To begin using the GMB Pay and Conditions service, follow these three simple steps:

  1. Access the service by clicking here

2.   You will be asked for your username and password. If you do not already have a username and password for the Payline service then phone your Regional Office or email the info@gmb.org.uk. You will need your membership details (name, address and membership number).

3.    Simply follow the instructions on screen to get started. You can contact the LRD by email, or phone 020 7902 9811 if you have any queries.

The GMB Pay and Conditions Service is the LRD Payline System from the Labour Research Department (LRD). LRD is a GMB affiliated organisation who provides the trade union movement with a wide range of information services and publications.
