National Minimum Wage
The National Minimum Wage has been in operation for the
last 10
years. Over that time, GMB have been campaigning to close
loopholes and tighten the legislation on all aspects of the
National Minimum Wage such as

Note: If you are an apprentice
under the age of 19 you are not entitled to the NMW. If you are an
apprentice aged 19 and over and you are still in the first year of
your apprenticeship you are also not entitled to the NMW.
The National Minimum Wage is set
annually by the Government based on recommendations by the
Low Pay Commission. GMB normally submits a
response to the Low Pay Commission and
gives oral evidence.
