Tell Roger: respect your workers!

Asda workers across the country are receiving letters from bosses saying they’ll be sacked unless they sign a punishing new contract.

Asda was formed from a Leeds family company built on proud Yorkshire values of hard work and respect. They’d be spinning in their graves now.

Loyal staff are being rewarded with cuts to terms and conditions. They face giving up work to look after elderly or disabled parents and relatives. Single parents may sacrifice their only source of income.

It's not good enough.

Asda is a multi-billion pound company. It doesn’t have to do this.

Sign our open letter to Asda CEO Roger Burnley calling for him to treat his workers with respect

Dear Roger

I’m a regular Asda shopper and appreciate the hard work and customer service that your employees provide in store.  

I was therefore concerned to hear that Asda is planning to reduce the benefits of Asda workers and is going to sack these workers if they don’t sign a new contract.

I don’t think this is the right way to treat employees who work hard and don’t get paid very much.

I’ve seen in the media recently that Asda has increased its profits in the last twelve months. Surely, a company as large as Asda can offer its employees better terms and conditions.
