JOB DESCRIPTION
GMB is a large trade union that organises across the UK and Ireland: we’re proud to represent over 460,000 members from across the professional spectrum.
We are currently seeking a HR Advisor to join our national team based at GMB's head office in London. The successful post-holder will be an all-round Generalist, able to support and cover the full employee life cycle of HR duties, but will lead on the day-to-day operations of the employee relation matters of the human resources department and the general legal compliance of the department.
The successful postholder will lead on all matters relating to employment law and protecting the Union against litigation by providing specialist knowledge and advice on legal proceedings against the union, and to define a strategic defence, recommending or approving settlement of disputes where warranted on the Union’s behalf.
The postholder will support the Head of People to continuously review and improve human resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture at GMB. You will lead on mitigating the union’s legal and compliance risks, across the union’s internal operations.
