GMB, the union for ASOS workers, has called on the company to reassure workers after profits nosedived.

The company's pre-tax profits fell 87% to £4m for the six months to 28 February against the same period in 2018

GMB is now calling on the company to reassure the workers who prop up Asos’ fashion empire.

Neil Derrick, GMB Regional Secretary, said:

"Conditions are stressful enough for all those working in the Barnsley warehouse.

"Now they have the added pressure of worrying about their futures.

"Despite today's news, ASOS is still a very successful company with head office staff on huge salaries.

"GMB calls on the top brass to reassure our hundreds of members - the people who prop up their fashion empire - that their jobs are safe."
