GMB, the union for care workers, has backed Be Caring Ltd’s innovative approach to tackling the UK’s care crisis.

Be Caring, which has facilities across the north of England, has been praised by Professor Martin Green, Chief Executive of Care England for their purpose built Allendale Court in Newcastle.

Be Caring say they want their collaborative approach with forward-thinking commissioners - based on openness, transparency and sound financial modelling - to pave the way for new ways of working

Chris Jukes, GMB Senior Organiser, said:

"GMB has a strong recognition and partnership agreement with Be Caring and we value the work the Company does to further the Ethical Care Commissioning agenda.

“The vital services Be Caring provides at Allendale Court have been rightly recognised as ground-breaking.

“GMB sponsors an APPG set up to understand the workings of the UK’s social care system, and its development is particularly important given the social care funding problems that are worsening day by day.

“We are really pleased to be working with Be Caring in developing a fair social care model.”
