GMB union have today welcomed the tribunal decision backing GMBs case against the unfair dismissal of GMB activist and shop steward Mark Thornley.

Mark is a GMB Rep and activist working on North West Leicestershire District Council refuse, and had been wrongly dismissed by the Council last year.

Colin Whyatt, GMB Organiser, said:

“This is a big win for Mark and his union.

“Justice has been done after a shambolic attempt to dismiss a hard working trade union representative.

“Mark works day in and day out to represent his members; this outcome shows that GMB will always have the back of our members in local government.”
