Share your story | Pay Justice Now

GMB members in schools and local government do hugely important work. We’re campaigning for you to be recognised in your pay packets, and we want to show the world what you do and why we’re so proud of you.

Will you share your story of what you do in your job? Why it matters to you and to all of us?

Let us know why you are fighting for Pay Justice Now.

NOTE: Please don't submit casework via this form - if you need to get in touch for support then please contact your workplace rep or your local team here.

Tell the world what you do in your job, why it makes a difference and why you deserve pay justice. Not sure what to write? Here are some questions to think about: What has your experience been of working through the pandemic? How is it making you feel? What has been the effect on your life of 10 years of pay ‘restraint’? And what would a proper pay increase mean for you and your family? How does your work contribute to helping people, service or your community?
We’d love to see you in your role (if that’s allowed). The absolute best would be a selfie of you at work or in your uniform or an image of something you talk about in your story, but if you can’t do that any photo of you is fine.
Files must be less than 10 MB.
Allowed file types: gif jpg jpeg png.
Your GMB Membership Number is included on emails sent to you from GMB Union (hello@gmb.org.uk). It is 7 characters long - 6 numbers with 1 letter at the start or end.

We want to show the world how wonderful our members are! By submitting this form you are confirming that you are happy for GMB to use your story, and accompanying image, for our Pay Justice NOW campaign (on social media and on other campaign materials). We won’t share your contact information and will only use your first name. We may contact you about this campaign.

Public sector workers are still suffering from ten years of Tory pay freezes and squeezes.

While ministers have doled out billions in coronavirus contracts for their business chums, workers have been on the frontline of the pandemic.

Now our key worker heroes need a proper pay rise - not a fresh new wave of austerity.
