The Fight for Birmingham Pay Justice
Look back at the campaign for equal pay in Birmingham so far
GMB members at Birmingham City Council are campaigning for equal pay. Join the fight for pay justice.
Birmingham City Council has a shameful record of discriminating against its women workers.
The Council was forced to pay out over a billion pounds in 2012 for underpaying those employees working jobs mainly done by women, and council officials have admitted that they have a new equal pay debt that could be as much as £760 million – and growing.
Since GMB launched the Birmingham Pay Justice campaign in 2021, thousands of Birmingham City Council workers have submitted legal claims against the council and joined the campaign. You can too.
