GMB Union has described the Government’s plan for ‘Best Start Family Hubs’ as ‘brilliant news’.
Stacey Booth, GMB National Officer, said:
“The foundation for strong communication skills is laid long before a child starts school; parents are a child’s first educator.
“The closure of sure start centres under the previous Government was an unmitigated disaster.
“Families could no longer access support and guidance to help early development and many children began school with significant language and developmental delays.
“These Best Start centres are brilliant news and a long standing campaign of GMB union.”
