GMB Union has welcomed a consultation on equal pay and pay discrimination, which was announced today [Wednesday]
Rhea Wolfson, GMB Head of Internal and Industrial Relations, said:
“We welcome this consultation.
“GMB’s experiences in leading and winning the fight for equal pay in workplaces across the country gives us a unique perspective, which we have communicated to the Government.
“They deserve credit for listening and moving positively from their original position.
“The test of the Government’s ambition will be if we see real action on the use of outsourcing and giving teeth to the enforcement body.
“Only then, will women be confident they can get the pay justice they deserve.”
