Accessibility Statement

GMB is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all members and visitors.

Our website is a primary tool of communication for our union, providing working people across the country with the latest campaign updates and information relevant to their workplaces.

As such, accessibility is a priority for GMB, and we are always working to ensure our website is delivering for all of the people we represent.

We aim to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and are currently partially compliant with these standards.

In striving to make our website more accessible, we are:

  • Making use of new software tools to identify accessibility issues across the website.
  • Updating alt text on join forms to remove barriers for individuals using screen readers who are looking to join the union.
  • Reviewing our use of colour contrast in GMB branding to make information clearer and easier to read.

We recognise there are parts of our website which are not fully accessible, and are taking proportionate steps to improve the experience of our members and visitors.

If you require any page, file or document to be supplied to you in a different format, please contact us at communications@gmb.org.uk and we will do our best to provide the information you need.
