GMB Union fought for rights to be underpinned in law through EU Parliament
GMB Union has responded to the EU enforcing employee rights for gig economy workers.
Mick Rix, GMB National Officer, said:
“GMB fought for years to get workers rights underpinned in law for platform workers in the UK and through the EU parliament.
“As a result, the EU is now bringing forward good proposals to stop exploitation of gig economy workers.
“Meanwhile in the UK, Ministers have ripped up proposals to protect UK gig workers from exploitation.”
