Which GMB woman has inspired you or others this year?

Maybe they’ve supported members with a workplace issue, negotiated the GMB menopause toolkit with their employer, or stood up for those not able to speak up for themselves.

Every year GMB awards the Eleanor Marx Award to an inspirational woman who has stood up and made an exceptional difference to our members’ lives.

Please note, GMB officers and staff may not be nominated.

Nominations must be submitted by the end of Workers' Memorial Day, 28th April 2024.

  • This should be a GMB woman you think is inspiring or who has shown outstanding leadership Please note that we must have an email address or phone number for all nominees.

  • Maybe it’s a brilliant campaign they’ve led or the way they have supported or won for members. Please give details of what they have done to inspire you or others below in no more than 300 words.

    If there are any links to their work online, e.g. social media, news stories, stories on the GMB website then include a link here. If there’s any other supporting evidence you want to submit, please email it to equalityinclusion@gmb.org.uk with an explanation. This isn’t required but helps us see the impact of your nominee’s work.

  • Is your nominee attending GMB Congress 2024 or have they confirmed they would be able to attend Congress in Bournemouth in June if they win the award?:

    The awards ceremony is at Congress and we want to make sure that the winner can make it.
