In a Tweet posted on 6 September 2022, we stated that Polyflor Ltd had “fired” almost 200 workers after they had voted to go on strike.
This was against the background of an ongoing industrial dispute between workers represented by GMB and the company.
This was an error. The company had not dismissed any workers involved in the dispute but, instead, had temporarily laid some off.
On the error being brought to the union’s attention, the Tweet was removed by the 9 September 2022.
