GMB Trade Union - Dozens of Four Seasons care homes passed on to administrators

GMB, the union for care workers, has responded to 58 Four Seasons care homes being handed passed on to administrators.

The care homes affected are in Northern Ireland, the North West, Scotland, East of England, the West Midlands, Yorkshire, the East Midlands, North East, South East and Wales

Rachel Harrison, GMB National Officer, said:

“This is yet another care catastrophe on this Government’s watch.

“The lack of any kind of plan for social care has never been more apparent. The Conservatives either don’t know or don’t care about it. The Chancellor barely mentioned in the Budget.

“This appalling lack of strategy has left the care of the most vulnerable people in our society in the hands of faceless landlords who only care about profit.

“GMB members and desperate residents - and their families - are now left in a period of uncertainty until another care provider can take over the operation of the homes.

“What planet are ministers living on if they think this acceptable?”
