GMB Trade Union - Energy suppliers failing show UK needs cohesive strategy

GMB, the energy union, says the recent failure of energy suppliers Utility Point, People’s Energy , PfP Energy and MoneyPlus Energy show the UK needs a more cohesive energy strategy.

Andy Prendergast, GMB National Secretary, said:

"With such a changeable energy market, the failure of these companies is going to cause worry and confusion for customers.

"Although Ofgem will move customers to new suppliers, with rising tariffs this could lead to real hardship.

"It underlines the need for a more cohesive strategy to protect consumers and ensure stability in the industry."
