GMB Trade Union - Translink attack shows bosses must do more

TransLink must do more to keep workers safe after a worker was hospitalised

A train conductor was left with a suspected broken jaw following an alleged assault on a train near Larne last night [Wednesday] [1]

Alan Perry, GMB Senior Organiser, said:

“First and foremost, our thoughts are with our member who in the course of his work was assaulted and seriously injured.

“GMB members are rightly concerned about their safety and Translink must do more to protect workers.

“We have requested an urgent meeting with Translink to see what measures they will put in place

“No one should go to work not knowing if they will make it home safe at the end of their shift.

“This violence must stop.”
