Twenty five days of strike action leading to Christmas have been announced.
GMB Union has today announced that workers' on Nottinghamshire's tram network will stage twenty five additional strike days this winter.
The news comes as the latest in the ongoing pay dispute between tram bosses and drivers, ticketing staff, control staff, engineers, cleaners and office workers on the network.
Strike action will take place on the below dates:
Month | Dates |
October 2026 | 22, 23, 30, and 31 |
November 2026 | 2, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28, and 29 |
December 2026 | 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 24, 26, 27, and 31 |
Colin Whyatt, GMB Organiser, said:
"Our members have been trying to resolve this dispute for almost a year.
"These workers have children and families of their own. Strike action is the last thing they want, especially this close to Christmas.
"But this is about their dignity at work, and a fair days pay for a fair days work.
"These strike dates will last through Nottinghamshire's busiest Christmas shopping weeks.
"If tram bosses are serious about fixing the mess they've created, they'll get around the table with a serious offer on pay".
