GMB union’s 102nd congress will take place at the Brighton Conference Centre from Sunday 9 June to Thursday 13 June.

Guests at Congress will include London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Former West Ham, Fulham and QPR footballer Leroy Rosenior and a fringe appearance from Shadow Education Secretary Angela Rayner.

Leader of Brighton Council Nancy Platts will open congress on Sunday morning, while Tim Roache, GMB General Secretary, will make his keynote speech to Congress on Tuesdaymorning.

Congress will hear a new report on the billions of pounds outsourced in local government contracts, research into the effect of a no deal Brexit on family shopping, the profits made by water companies 30 years on from privatisation, research into the care sector - attacks on care workers and the vast number of people in debt from social care, behind the scenes stories from Heathrow security, a study into gender inequality in the construction industry and previously unseen figures into the millions Amazon receive from UK taxpayers.

GMB Congress will welcome around a thousand people, from various professions and sectors, to Brighton. Media who want to attend GMB Congress 2018, contact the press office to ask about accreditation.
