Defence Secretary's home grown workers pledge 'welcome'

GMB Union has welcomed the Defence Secretary’s pledge to back British defence workers and stop relying on agency labour from abroad.

Gary Smith, GMB General Secretary, said:

“It should be a badge of national shame that we're importing skilled defence workers from overseas, while the UK has a million young people out of work.

“It’s welcome the Defence Secretary has pledged to end this folly and back our young shipbuilding and defence workers from Cornwall to the Clyde.”
