GMB Trade Union - Nottinghamshire tram strikes called off

Tram workers are vital to our city and deserve respect, says GMB.

GMB Union, representing workers across Nottinghamshire's tram network, has today announced that workers have voted to accept a negotiated package to end the ongoing strike action.

The news comes after four days of strikes across the network, and brings to an end the prospect of twenty five further strike days planned for later this year.

Workers voted to accept a new deal from company management, after months of negotiations.

Colin Whyatt, GMB Organiser, said:

"Tram workers are vital to the success of our city and our county.

"This new package delivers significant improvement to our members terms and conditions of employment across the network.

"Strike action is always a last resort, but our members know they deserve respect at work and a pay packet that covers the bills.

"We are now focused on working with management to continue the success of our tram network, and make sure the workers who operate it day in and day out have a voice".
