GMB Union says the takeover of Spirit Aerosystems - approved by the Federal Trade Commission today [Monday] - leaves questions still to be answered.
Alan Perry, GMB Senior Organiser, said:
"Both Boeing and Airbus are talking up this deal, but lots of question still need to be answered.
"More than 300 people work on the mid-fuselage Airbus - they have yet to be given guarantees over their long term future, or even whether production will remain in Belfast.
"The wing production, owned by Airbus, is built in a separate unit and Boeing has yet to outline long terms plans for the site, as they currently have no work packages or contracts."
"GMB has requested urgent talks with both parties.
