GMB writes to Parliamentary authorities urging support for UK made sanitary ceramics.
GMB Union and Dave Robertson MP have written to Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, urging Parliamentary authorities to consider the use of British-made bathroom ceramics and sanitaryware in any future renovation or refurbishment works across the Parliamentary Estate.
The union says major public projects should support UK manufacturing, protect skilled jobs and strengthen domestic supply chains, particularly at a time when British manufacturers are facing growing.
In a letter to the Speaker, GMB urges Parliament to demonstrate leadership by prioritising products made in Britain when upgrading facilities across the Parliamentary Estate, including bathrooms, washrooms and other sanitary facilities.
The call comes as significant investment continues to be planned and considered for the maintenance and modernisation of the Palace of Westminster and wider Parliamentary buildings.
